Somatic Integration & Expressive Art in Practice:

An Experiential Workshop for Clinicians

Enhance your clinical toolkit

Join Charity Lui & Isabelle Rousseau to explore somatic tracking, movement-based grounding and non-verbal integration.

As therapists, we understand that trauma, stress, and emotion are deeply held in the body. However, facilitating somatic awareness in clients requires us to first cultivate and understand it within ourselves.

This experiential workshop offers clinicians a dedicated space to explore somatic and expressive art tools firsthand. Through body mapping, structured movement, and restorative practices, you will experience clinical interventions that bridge the gap between cognitive processing and somatic release. You will leave with practical, experiential tools to help clients track bodily sensations, regulate their nervous systems, and make conscious, embodied choices.

What to Expect

  • Expressive Art & Somatic Mapping: Utilizing low-barrier visual art (paper and markers) as an externalization tool.

  • Learn how to help clients project internal physical sensations onto paper to track, analyze, and process somatic shifts and emotional resonance.
  • Kinesthetic Grounding & Release: Experiencing Isabelle Rousseau’s movement protocol focusing on swing, momentum, and the physical capacity to "detach" and discharge tension.

  • Restorative & Semi-Structured Integration: Analyzing how restorative practices and semi-structured movement can be used to close clinical sessions and ground dysregulated clients.

  • Experience and implement visual somatic mapping tools as clinical externalization techniques.
  • Understand the clinical application of rhythmic, swinging movements for nervous system regulation.
  • Incorporate somatic check-ins to track client state changes pre- and post-intervention.

And maybe most importantly, have fun, relax and network with other health professionals.
